We are all on a journey… Our journey has led us to strive to create a unique, honest and approachable way to experience real Indian food.
Our journey began more than forty years ago when a young man left his homeland of India in search of adventure on the mystical streets of London. While the city fed his soul, a fiery hunger for the tastes and aromas of his homeland proved unquenchable. He did the only thing he could do to satisfy his hunger: He opened a restaurant. Tandoori of Chelsea opened in 1964, serving the most authentic, delicious and heart warming Indian food London had thus far seen. As the years progressed and other restaurants followed, the young man grew older - looking back at his journey he saw his love of Indian food had been shared with others.
That man was my father.
Today I welcome you to our newest venture and ask you to join me on this journey. At zaama we promise to cook a healthy, nutritionally balanced meal. We promise that our meat and poultry will always be ethically sourced from reputable farms. Our seafood will be bought market-fresh every single day, and wherever possible our vegetables will be organic. We cook using the lightest of seed oils and your meal will be low in cholesterol, with low fat / no fat options always available. I hope that these simple commitments by us will result in total enjoyment for you.
